Private Concierge just for you. Arrangements can be made for airport pick up, private chef, stocked refrigerator upon arrival, catered meals, car rental, private lessons, golfing excursions, chartering a boat, etc. These amenities are made through the manager either before or during your stay, and costs of such amenities are made directly to the concierge. This is a 3 level house with lots of privacy for all, the lower bedroom only requires one step to enter, and you are on the same level as the pool, living room, kitchen, dining room, and outdoor fireplace area. There is a ramp leading from the driveway right to this bedroom, then one step to enter, and one small step to pool area from the sliding glass doors which give a spectacular view of the pool, ocean and the jungle. This is great for anyone who may have trouble dealing with stairs.
There are many beautiful houses in Manuel Antonio, but very few are located where you really walk out the door to the beach. Also, parking is right at the house, not at a parking lot. No need to hike down or up a hill, hike up stairs, or walk down long halls or through lobbies. You get out of your car right in the driveway of the house.

Better than Listing. A+ Property

We booked this home for Spring Break for Two families with teenage children, total of 7 people. In summary, this house was a great option, and I would stay here again. The pictures on the listing do not do this house justice, as it appears the home is a bit dated. In person, this was not the case as the home was much nicer than it appeared online. The communal areas were well laid out and spacious. The main living room / TV area will be small for larger groups, but we barely spent any time there. The pool must be the highlight of this property, and we ended up spending most of our time there, watching all the wildlife in the area (macaws, toucans, monkeys, iguana’s, everything). Literally, drinking a beer, floating in the pool watching the ocean and seeing all the creatures. We cancelled our trip to the Manual Atonio national park on advice from Asher, and this was the right call. The one exception for this property is the lack of whole house air conditioning, only the bedrooms have AC. A ‘nice to have’ not a ‘need to have’ category as we enjoyed having the house wide open during the day. Myra, the housekeeper, is there every day but Sunday and keeps the place in hotel quality condition, including doing your laundry. Tito, the concierge, is extremely responsive to any requests and helped us coordinate our adventures and our off-site dining experiences. Tito is also a professional chef, and it is not possible to overstate the quality of the meals he prepared.

Great, Relaxing, Everything you want

I have to say I am a little prejudice as I am the owner of Garden House by the Beach. I rarely ever get a chance to stay at the house as it is enjoyed by so many guests, but every time I enter Garden House, I realize I have forgotten the beauty of it, and the breathtaking view. Mayra is always their, she is the full time house keeper/maid, who manages always to be so helpful and cheerful and does an amazing job, so that guests never have to lift a finger. I usually do go during the slow season, so as to freshen up the house for the coming year as do all the homeowners in Tulemar. Everyone there works together to make the property amazing both in service and appearance. Although it is the rainy season, the week had sun every day, making it possible to go walk to the incredible beach daily. So relaxing. I must warn you though, be sure to take enough swim suits. You will jump in the pool, at least once a day, if not twice. Tulemar and Garden House by the Beach, are truly a little bit of paradise.

An Amazing Vacation

Our stay at the Garden House was amazing. Tito Borge, the chef and on-site concierge really made our stay special by not only cooking delicious and fantastic food, but also by answering any questions we had about anything from activities to Costa Rican culture. Mayra, the housekeeper, gave me a true vacation, by not only tidying up, but she also did our laundry every day. The house and pool were comfortable, relaxing, and everything that makes a vacation a vacation. The Tulemar Resort was fantastic. We visited the private beach nearly every day and found each employee there to be welcoming and extremely helpful. On top of all that, we also saw sloths, monkeys, iguanas, a toucan, and more! It was hard to leave Tulemar and Costa Rica!

Outstanding place and location, wonderful views

Well cared for property (with some additional new paint/facelifting planned after we left, we were told), immaculate grounds/gardens, pool well maintained/spotless; Great place for a large group to spread out and feel comfortable, yet be together. Tito worked as our chef and "on-site" concierge, and really made the week, highly recommend that you let him help you also! Close to beach (shuttles will bring you if desired), lots of wildlife. Would highly recommend this again!!

Exceptional Vacation Rental

Three generations of our family stayed at Garden House at Tulemar in Manuel Antonio for the first week of January and were delighted. In fact our sons, both in their 20's, said that it was the best family vacation we've ever taken. It is no coincidence that the house was named the top resort home in Central America by Trip Advisor. We would have no hesitation in returning or recommending the property to a friend. The house is architecturally striking, tucked into the cliffs of the Pacific coastline, with the brilliant turquoise of the ocean, rich emerald green jungle spotted with brightly colored flora and a serenade of tropical birds and monkeys. Facing west, we watched the sun set every night and swam first thing every morning in the beautiful infinity pool. The house is built on an open scheme, with retractible doors making the entire downstairs open to the back. We spent the our time divided between the house pool and the resort's private beach, which was within easy walking distance. The obvious care with which the resort has been planned and its landscaping executed is reminiscent of the beautiful former Rock Resorts in the Virgin Islands. The interior of the house worked well for our family, allowing everyone privacy but with plenty of space in the public areas. Everything was pristine and well maintained, due in no small part to a full time housekeeper. The photographs supplied on the website are accurate, but do not do justice to the beauty of the locale and absolute privacy of the home. We hired a cook for the week, which was well worth the investment as it gave us the week off from grocery shopping and cooking and allowed us the freedom to choose when, where and what we ate in the privacy of an exquisite setting. The pool is large, appropriate for lap swimming, and certainly beat sharing a pool with a crowd of resort guests. The beach is lovely, uncrowned, well outfitted and partially shaded with palm trees. The house manager was helpful in arranging outings. We took a jungle zip line tour, a walking tour of the Manuel Antonio National Park with a private naturalist guide (our favorite outing), a rafting trip (younger set only) and a catamaran outing (crowded, motorized booze cruise in sweltering heat, which we could happily have skipped). Our security deposit arrived within a few days of our departure, accompanied by a thank you note from the owner. Brava, Beverly. You and your house deserve four gold stars!

She told me that there was nothing comparable to the property located in Tulemar in all of Costa Rica. So I purchased a lot and with her help had this amazing house built, which not only has rated Tulemar on TripAdvisor under best hotels, as number #2 in the World, but over the years has given so many families such pleasure, that I am indeed very happy indeed to own such a treasure.

There is nothing like it in all of Costa Rica for convenience to anywhere you want to go, and you walk within gated, guarded, landscaped grounds to the best exclusive family beach, and beach club in all of Manuel Antonio. Private large, warm, pool that children and adults love, and many guests have said their children have learned to swim in this pool. Since it is private you can swim in it any time of the day or night. Please note not all pools stay warm all day and night, and this one is just the perfect temperature.
