Canaruba is a 3 bedroom private home with a private pool, very private large yard (located on a cul-de-sac), sleeps six and is located minutes to Palm Beach and the highly rated Tierra Del Sol golf course. Canaruba is a perfect getaway for a family vacation, honeymoon, anniversaries or a longer retreat from home.
Our Villa is just minutes away from some of Aruba's finest attractions. Just a short 3 minute car ride to fabulous restaurants, shopping malls, Casinos, movie theaters, Golf course and the famous Palm Beach. Condé Nast Top-10 rated Eagle Beach is only 5 minutes away and there is lots of free parking everywhere. Loaded with comforts and amenities, Canaruba is located in the upscale neighborhood of Borancana.

FYI - "Canaruba" is the name for our home, made up of "Canada" and "Aruba" - our two most favourite places :o)
WHAT MAKES CANARUBA DIFFERENT?
There are many beautiful villas and homes to rent in Aruba, the following aspects set us apart us from the others:
1) Location, Location, Location.
Canaruba is located in one of Aruba's top neighbourhoods and on one of the most familiar streets we've seen on the island. (It feels close to a very small subdivision like at home, and our specific street is paved with interlock brick that is in great shape.)
The home is only 1 mile (1.1 to be exact) to the nearest beach entry point on the Palm Beach boardwalk (between the Ritz and the Marriott). It is only 3 miles to the "main" restaurant / entertainment area. There is plenty of free parking all around the island and all beaches are fully open to the public.
2) Privacy
The privacy of the backyard is the most consistent feedback that we get from our guests. Because of the location on a quiet cul-de-sac and tall solid fencing, the backyard is truly a retreat for families and couples. Check out of the satellite-view (drone) photos to see what we mean!
3) Comfort
Canaruba has two Queen bedrooms and the 3rd bedroom can be set up either as 2 twin beds or 1 King. All of the mattresses are thick memory foam. (full mattress, not just a top.) All of the bedrooms are individually air conditioned. The kitchen is full of small appliances and the interior of the home is spacious enough to be comfortable even for a group of 6. You have a variety of dining and sitting options: inside, in the screened-in sunroom (a "lanai"), or outside on the patio either in the open sun or under the umbrella. Enjoy a happy hour drink by the pool and doze off in the hammock!

DINING OPTIONS AT THE HOME?
There are lots of dining location options for breakfast, lunch or dinner:
1) Eat outdoors by the pool on the patio table (under a patio umbrella if you wish) - seats 6
2) Eat in the sunroom (a fully-screened in outdoor room... maybe you know this as a "lanai"?) - seats 4+
3) Eat indoors - seats 6
Did we mention the mango and palm trees in the yard?

When comparing to other properties please review the associated costs with these elements and you will see that Canaruba is one of the most competitive high end homes to rent. We are registered for the tourist (hotel) taxes, so you don't have to worry about being honest on your immigration forms on arrival and this also means our home is registered and approved with the Aruba Health and Happiness Code.
SHOULD WE RENT A CAR?
Although the beach and grocery store are walk-able, to get the most out of your vacation and the area we encourage our guests to rent a car. There are dozens of great beaches to explore close to our home and all around the island - and you don't have to worry about paying for parking.. One you book your reservation we are able to communicate directly with each other over email or phone and we would be happy to suggest some lower-cost rental companies and some great excursions.
WHAT ABOUT UTILITIES? WHY IS THERE AN "ALLOWANCE" WITH SOME HOMES
Electricity and water are both very expensive on the island. For this reason, almost every vacation rental home has some sort of mechanism to ensure that usage is kept to reasonable levels. We have opted for an approach of providing a generous electricity allowance of US$100 per week. We set the allowance at this level as this is what is typically used by turning on the air conditioners in each of the 3 bedrooms while you are sleeping. If you wish to run the air conditioners during the day, this could get expensive - the good news is that there is a nice breeze that comes through the home throughout the day and keeps it comfortable inside without running the a/c during the day or evening. Guests are shown the meter at check-in and can keep an eye on usage as often as they wish during their stay. We do not worry about water usage - this is less likely to be excessive, and there is other water usage that is not within the guests control (landscape drip irrigation, pool level, etc.) so we didn't think this was fair to set limits on water usage. (Aruba has the highest quality drinking water in the world, so be sure to drink up!) Most importantly we want our guests to be able to relax and enjoy their vacation without a fear of an unexpected cost at the end. If you are comparing with other properties please be sure to consider these aspects as there is a wide variety of approaches used.
WHO TAKES CARE OF THE HOME?
Our home is managed by an on-Island Property Manager. They will meet you at the home and show you around the home and the yard and answer any questions you may have. Our property manager does this professionally for a few other properties - so they are experts. They can share local "'not to be missed" places - and of course, we'll do our best to be your virtual tour guide. The home is professionally cleaned and laundered between each guest stay. If you would like to have a mid-stay cleaning this can be arranged (at an extra cost unfortunately.)
Canaruba is located in a safe, family friendly community (don’t worry about the gate on our property, that’s just to keep out the goats! We like to keep our fruit for our two-legged guests!) We have never had any concerns about security with the home or in the neighbourhood - and to give you peace of mind, there is a small secure safe for your passport and valuables and you will be the only person on the island that knows the code.
