The ski access trail that leads to the Waldorf Astoria Gondola is behind the unit. With adequate snow, and some skiing proficiency, it is possible to ski in and out (with a walk up a steep incline in back). Most of the time, it is more convenient and less effort to take the free shuttle that will pick you up at your front door and drop you off at the mountain base, the cabriolet or the gondola.
