The Seedling - Log Cabin in the Woods

The Seedling was built in 2008 and is constructed of solid log. For year round comfort, it is fully furnished and equipped with central heat and air.

The floor plan is designed for couples seeking peace and solitude; however our comfortable sleeper allows the cabin to accommodate two more. The cabin is tucked away among the trees. Your nearest neighbors are the squirrels and birds that come to visit.

Plenty of windows will bring in the natural light of the day. As our guest, you will enjoy many amenities inside-a full kitchen, towels and linens, vaulted ceilings and cable tv.

For those who need to keep in touch, a phone and wireless internet are also provided. Enjoy the outdoors sitting around the rock fire pit while your steaks sizzle on the charcoal grill, rock away your worries on the wrap around porch or just simply relax in the Jacuzzi.

The Seedling is all about peace and quiet, but fine dining is only 10 minutes away and 30 minutes from you are many interesting events at The University of the South.

Wonderfully secluded

Perfectly secluded, hosts are wonderful and attentive. Hot tub is 10/10 perfection. Bed is a little firm for my liking, but that’s just a personal preference. Cozy, quaint, perfect for a couple wanting to unwind.

Nice place to escape

The Seedling is located in a rural, semi private setting with grocery and DG within 10 min! A little smaller than we prefer. The wifi was reliable but some trouble streaming. Porch and hot tub are amazing Bathroom is super small as is the shower. Kitchen fully stocked with cooking ware and dining. No TV in the bedroom. Nice heat system. Camping chairs, charcoal, firewood was all stocked there for use which is so helpful when travelling. Owners were very polite, helpful and provided great communication.

If you need a break form the city…

My partner and I decided to get away to enjoy some fall colors and wanted a place to stay after a show at the Caverns. We were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful this little gem was. The cabin sits about a 1/4 mile off highway but less than 10 minutes from convenience stores. It’s also about 20 minutes from the Caverns. There is a very nice binder that gave instructions for everything in the cabin including local restaurant menus and recreation. We even had WIFI. The bed was comfy and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Although firewood was provided, we didn’t get a chance to use the firepit. The weather got a little cold and damp. The highlight of our stay was drinking coffee on the big front porch and being visited every morning by 3 deer. We will definitely be back.
