Towels and Linen are provided FREE of charge. Dishes, Pots and Pans, cooking utensils, a few spices are also provided FREE of charge. Sometimes the owner is able to provide FREE body wash and lotion but feel free to bring additional items and/or purchase more at the Giant Supermarket or Target, just a 5-minute walk from this home.

Unfortunately, NO PETS are permitted at this property.

This two-bedroom home is located in walking distance from the Columbia Heights METRO Train Station. The GREEN LINE or YELLOW Line both stop at Columbia Heights. This home has all the necessities for urban living. This is a 2,000 sq ft home. It is a comfortable home ideal for a small family, a couple of friends, colleagues, etc (up to 4 guests).
There are two queen beds and one day bed/couch. This home boasts of an island kitchen with a granite top for meals. There is a full kitchen with dishes, pots, pans, eating and cooking utensils. Beyond the kitchen, through the door and up a few short steps is a large yard. It may be used for children to play, parents to grill outdoors, or a place to enjoy the foliage. The guests above on the 1rst floor rotate usage of the yard.
This home is located in the northwest quadrant of the city in the revitalized Columbia Heights. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION is highly encouraged as this home has no parking garage and no parking driveways. There is 2 HOURS of FREE on-street parking but then our guests are directed to the Public Parking Garage, just a quick 5 minute walk and reasonably priced.

VEHICLE PARKING: There are two (2) garage parking lots in this neighborhood, one at the GIANT Supermarket and one at the USA Shopping Area - (garage is under the Target Store.)
This neighborhood is ideal for travel via public transportation because the Metro is a 5-minute walk from the home. There are local shuttle services that may be boarded one block away and these shuttles go to many tourist sites. There are buses one block away taxi cabs, and other car services. For those who desire to travel via bicycle, there are rentals available in front of the Giant Supermarket. There is a World Sports and Health Club which provides an outlet to exercise and the wonderful Day Spas (two) are just a few attractive features in this revitalized neighborhood. The Metro train is by far the most popular attraction in the neighborhood as it provides transportation to all the tourist sites. There is a wealth of restaurants with all sorts of food including Chinese, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, and a list of chain restaurants to include, Chipotle, Cava, Subway and a Starbucks. For local restaurants that specialize in international cuisines guests make take a short walk down Lamont Street to the very next intersection which is 11th Street. This is where you'll find sidewalk cafes and restaurants. At Park Rd. and 14th St., there is a town square where the fountain cools off the children during the hot DC summer days, where the local farmers display their seasonal fruit and vegetables and where local artist display their paintings, drawings and even provide the public, free of charge, their musical talents. There are benches and tables where one may sit to enjoy the free entertainment, the night air and a food from the local restaurants.

This apartment home is a duplex style apartment on the Lower Level. There are two bedrooms both equipped with over-sized queen beds with lovely cotton Egyptian sheets, large dressers with end tables equipped with warm lamps.

There is a large supermarket, named ''Giant'' just a 5-minute walk away.
Rental Bikes may be found in front of the Giant Supermarket.

Public Paid Garage Parking is reasonably priced and is just a 5-minute walk from this home. Included in your directory in the home is the address of the parking garage.

Awesome location
The property was clean, the property had all of the things you need. The bedding has really comfortable. The property is about on block from several really good restaurants, a large grocery, a target.

Columbia Heights apartment
The apartment was clean, well organized, conveniently located for a short walk to the metro, and bus, grocery store and many restaurants and shopping. We were able to easily get around DC exploring the sights. We stayed for one week and were comfotable. Could have used a few throw blankets for when we watched tv in the evenings and a extra sheet. (One bed did not have a top sheet. ) Was quiet at night time and we were able to sleep well. This apartment worked well for our vacation.

Great location for a long weekend
My husband and I took my 84 year old dad to DC for his first trip to the city. The home was perfect for us with the two bedrooms, living area, and kitchen. The location was easy to get Lyfts to and from for my dad, along with being close to public transportation. We also were within walking distance to a grocery store, drug store, coffee and restaurants. I would recommend this for your next stay.

Comfortable and convenient
Apartment was very clean and comfortable with good wifi. Nice location, residential area but a block from all stores and conveniences and a Metro stop. Kitchen was equipped well enough for us to dine in twice. I would recommend it.

Grocery store is steps away and the hours are conveniently 6am until 11pm weekly. There is a large bicycle rack with wonderful bikes directly in front of the 'Giant' grocery store. Why not see Wash DC by bike? There are sidewalk cafes/restaurants on 11th st., NW between Lamont and Monroe. There are a host of stores, Wash DC Sports Club, IHOP, Starbucks, Five Guys, and wonderful international restaurants in the neighborhood.
