Our home is located on a peninsula which is bordered by the Fox River and Elm Island Bay. The bay looks like a small lake, but is connected to the river which is navigable with any outboard motor for nearly seven miles. Lake Tichigan is a beautiful lake north of our home that is a gorgeous, winding river ride away, boasting depths of 60 feet, sandbars, a nature conservancy, great fishing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, tubing, and swimming. It is the home of an annual hot air balloon festival, a fireworks show launched from the center of the lake on the 4th of July, and of course an annual boat tie-up party with a band on a barge. Waterford has fun for all seasons including hiking, biking, fall colors, Bird watching, ice fishing, cross country skiing, and two downhill ski hills within 25 minutes of our home. Elm Island Bay is home to swans, blue herons, sand hill cranes, ducks, bluegills, bass, catfish, and even some walleye and northern pike. Our pier/dock stays in the water and ice year round without damage, allowing anglers to fish as soon as the ice is gone and up to the minute that it first freezes.
