High hopes, but a little disappointing
The counter in the kitchen was dirty the evening we arrived, an entire section had to be cleaned. It appeared coffee had been spilt and not cleaned up properly. Floors were dirty throughout. There were 3 of us, but only 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths in the bathrooms. While there were lots of large towels, the washcloth and hand towels situation seemed a bit ridiculous. We actually went to the store to buy some. The bed in the second bedroom has a very poor mattress and was uncomfortable to sleep on. Also, the extra blanket in this room was old and felt nasty to touch. The pillows in both rooms were rather flat.
Our biggest complaint and frustration was the pool. We were hoping to swim the evening we arrived, but discovered you needed a key to enter. When I called the following day about a key, I was told to come to the office to get one and that it would require a deposit, which I would receive back when the key was returned. The only thing that the listing or information I received after booking was that the pool was communal; it did say that you had to have a key card for the fitness center, but nothing about the pool. I did not have a car with me. While yes, I got my deposit back, I spent quite a bit of $$ on Uber to drive back and forth twice to the office…not to mention the time I spent making those trips. It seems to me that the need for a key card for the pool needs to be clearly stated before booking. Why can’t the key be left at the condo, if you request it?
