Voyager Rest is ideally located to enjoy the incredible beauty of wild wonderful West Virginia! It is situated on a private 7+ acre lot, within Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge - within Old Timberline gated resort community. It offers complete privacy, yet is just minutes from countless outdoor pursuits.

The interior of Voyager Rest is exquisitely finished with antiques and collectables from around the globe. It is truly one of a kind. It includes, a large stone wood-burning fireplace, oak beams, antique hardwood and slate flooring, stone showers, and granite counter-tops fitted with hand-made copper sinks. Two kayaks are available to guests; one at each lake (Please see orientation).

Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge was the 500th National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) to be established in the United States. The refuge preserves a moist valley with unique wetlands and uplands at a relatively high elevation in the Allegheny Mountains.

Note guests have access to fishing at (2) lakes within the Old Timberline community <5min from the cabin - no fishing license required within the community.

Eclectic House With Great Views and Great Hot Tub

This house is packed with treasures from around the world. It has a wonderful kitchen. Comfy beds. The hot tub was a hit.

Second trip to Voyager’s Rest

We loved this place so much we came back for a second trip! Although this trip was a bit shorter, we enjoyed reconnecting with this home’s charm and historic treasures!! Jim is truly one of a kind and clearly cares about his guest’s experience within this amazing cabin.

Blue’s 5th birthday weekend trip

This trip was amazing! We honestly could have just stayed at the cabin the whole time there was so much to see and enjoy. It felt like we traveled the world just being in the cabin with all the unique decor. The hot tub was perfect and super clean. The stone double shower was like nothing we have ever seen. The fire place was so relaxing and cozy and had plenty of wood to keep it going. Jim gave some amazing recommendations for black water falls and Seneca rock hiking. Our dogs had a blast hiking there and on the property. The beds and linens were immaculate. It was the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. All the appliances were top notch from the kitchen to the laundry. The views from the deck were spectacular. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Worth every penny!

Stunning home and location

My family and I had an amazing stay in Davis. The property was beautiful as was the home. It had everything we needed and then some for a weekend of hiking and relaxation. Jim is a terrific host and very communicative and welcoming. Looking forward to visiting again!

Pure Bliss

I rented Voyager Rest along with a group of family and friends, some of which have been traveling to the Canaan Valley for 20+ years. I myself have visited a good many times over the past decade. Voyager Rest is hands down one of the best cabins you can rent in all of the valley. The places itself is amazing and perfectly curated, and the views are amazing. As if the cabin wasn’t already fantastic enough, the host, Jim, was genuinely the nicest and most attentive host I’ve come across. My group ran into some last-minute logistical issues the day before check-in, so I messaged Jim to ask about an early check-in. He called me within minutes to tell me that we could check in as early as we like, and also provided some info about the property and the amazing sound system in the cabin. Jim then proceeded to call me one or two more times to tell me about a few other things with the cabin, and also told us we could check out as late as we wished because no one was renting it the day we left. Start to finish, an all-around amazing experience. Already planning a return trip!
