Brightly Renovated Penthouse Suite In Prime Location!

Welcome to Casa Guacamaya (Macaw House) , a beautiful condominium in Rosa Blanca.
The condo is situated in the north end of the secure subdivision of Playa car, on the south side of Playa Del Carmen. You are just a 5-8 minute walk to the world famous 5th Avenue, with fantastic restaurants offering cuisine from around the world and catering to all tastes and price ranges. There are bars and entertainment ranging from blues music to disco to traditional minstrels walking the streets. If you just want to go shopping, you have stores ranging from Neiman Marcus to local street vendors. The diversity is endless and caters to everyone's needs and expectations.

We rented in Rosa Blanca for a number of years and in February 2015 purchased our condo from one of the original owners. An extensive renovation has been undertaken to our 2 bedroom – 2 bathroom condo. Our unit has brand new interior paint and living room furniture. Each bedroom has a king-size bed, closets, and a chest of drawers. Our unit’s top floor penthouse location allows for cool ocean breezes to flow through the patio screens in the evening.

Our goal is to be environmentally friendly:
For starters, all lighting is energy efficient. Who’s going to cook a roast or chicken in an oven when on holidays? We’re not. So no oven: what we offer instead are amenities that meet our needs and the needs of our guests.
The induction cook top does not produce heat, is child friendly, and generates the heat internally on the bottom of the pot or pan. The suite also features a toaster oven, electric kettle, microwave (English display), blender and kettle.

The first thing in the morning, before a walk on the beach, stroll around the corner to a French bakery for fresh croissants (chocolate ones as well) for breakfast. The condo is also within walking distance to a huge grocery store called Chedraui. Here you will find a wide range of groceries, meats, dairy, liquor and clothing. There is a small hand cart in the utility room for your use for transporting the groceries.

If your intention is to come to Rosa Blanca to party hard, perhaps this is not the place for you. Rosa Blanca is a tightly knit group of 12 condo units with owners that enjoy peaceful and quiet evenings.

The white sand beach of the Mayan Riviera is a short five-minute walk down a stone pathway through some trees and past Mayan ruins from days of past. Every morning the first thing on our “rigorous” schedule is to walk the beach before the afternoon heat. The inside joke is you get to meet everyone twice while walking the beach: You meet them as you walk down and on your return you get to meet them again as they walk back to their destination. The ferry to Cozumel is another 2 minute walk farther down the beach. A definite must is a day trip over to Cozumel to do MORE shopping or enjoy snorkelling or scuba diving expeditions.

After a busy day you can unwind with your beverage of choice on our private balcony overlooking the pool. From the balcony you will see the 4th tee green of the well-known Hard Rock Golf course.

Our summer guests will experience flocks of colorful green parrots flying through the trees. As winter approaches they head even further south to their winter retreat in the Amazon jungles.

How do we get to this exciting place?
The two easiest ways to reach Rosa Blanca from the airport in Cancun are:
1) If you are a “Newbie” to the area, there is a service that you can call ahead of time and pre-book a vehicle (typically a van) with driver. As soon as you exit the terminal in Cancun, the driver of the Company will be standing with a sign with your name on it. He will drive you right to the parking lot at Rosa Blanca. The cost is $50.00 U.S. one way, money well spent. This service will also pick you up at Rosa Blanca and take you back to the airport as well for the same sum.
2) If you are a veteran to the area, as you exit outside of the Cancun airport, turn right and walk with your luggage down to the last parking row (35-40 yards roughly). Look for the ADO Bus kiosk. It costs $12.00 U.S. per person and the bus drives you to the main bus terminal on 5th Ave. From there, you have to take a cab to Rosa Blanca which costs $5 - $8, depending on your negotiation skills.

Great Location with Beautiful Pool
Our family spent a week in this condo and really enjoyed it. The pool is beautiful and was never crowded. It is close the the action, yet quite. We were able to walk to 5th Ave for meals and entertainment. The beds were comfortable and the condo had a cozy and happy vibe. We're happy to have stayed there vs a resort.

Tasteful decor and comfortable.
Check in was easy. Good communication with the property manager. And everything worked well. Location, showers, pool, patio furniture, and all of the normal Amenities such as plates, cooking items, etc. I would stay there again - that’s the highest rating I can give.

Quiet and Relaxing...
I have travelled to Playa del Carmen for many years, usually staying in centro. This year, I decided to try to find something quieter, still close, but not right in the hustle and noise of 5th Avenue. This place turned out to be just what I was looking for! The condo is a very clean, well equipped, roomy two bedroom two bath unit on the top floor, with a balcony overlooking the pool and golf course beyond. It is on a quiet street, within a 10 minute walk to 5th Avenue, and there is a great French bakery for morning croissants and lattes, and a convenience store, about a 5 minute walk away. The owners were super responsive and helpful with tips and advice. The condo is not on the beach, but it can be accessed with a short walk. If being right on the beach is not a concern, and you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place, which still offers easy access to the shopping, restaurants and activities of 5th avenue and area, I definitely would recommend this place.

Smooth process in renting. Once the payment was processed I was connected via email with the owner. The owner was very good with communication. The owner was very good in providing details about the area and the property. The condo was exactly as listed. Very clean and the Mexican decor was my favorite. Typically response was within 24hrs. Playacar is a wonderful location if you want a more relaxed location but yet close enough to hustle and bustle of 5th Ave and the beaches in Playa del Carmen. The condo was centrally located to the main entrance of Playacar as there are 4 entrances. If you want to stock up on water chips etc you have many options. If your Into staying fit you can walk everywhere. By the end of the day you can hop a cab. Security is serious in Playacar. You don’t get in unless you show your security card. There are many more good things to say about Playacar. The negative that I have is about the property management. I was told someone would meet me upon arrival. No one was there. I had to call when I arrived at the condo. When Jesse the property manager arrived I felt she rushed walking me thru the unit. I was told I had to provide my own toilet paper once the two roles provided ran out. Very strange. Dish detergent was in a container no larger than the size of a tube you get in a hotel. Clearly if your doing dishes this would not be enough. I was told not to use excessive electricity. There is a fee. It is noted in the rental agreement. As I mentioned you need a security card to enter Playacar. If you have more than one member in your party this is clearly an issue if your not always together. I had to inquire about getting another pass for my adult son. I was told they only issue one card. This is an inconvenience. The property manager told us to leave the unit key in the lock box to go in an out. While I stated it was very safe I would never leave the only key to the unit in a box located outside of the condo. I finally was able to obtain a wrist band from security. A small fee was paid. This in my opinion should be part of the checkin process. The property manager should ask how many people in your party would need access to Playacar. I’ve been renting in Playa del Carmen and Cozumel for 25 years. This is the first time I’ve ever had any of these type of issues with a property manager. Shopping for toilet paper is not on my vacation list. There is no cleaning service.

Wonderful Place to Stay!!
Pretty much everything about our experience staying at this property was wonderful...from the thorough and timely communication with the property owner leading up to our trip to the easy check-in and check-out process and everything in between. The condo complex is in a great location relative to all of the amenities of the area and it is very well maintained and secure. The stores, the beach, 5th Avenue and more were all a short and pleasant walk away which made needing a car unnecessary except for any longer excursions. The pool was pristine and was cleaned and maintained daily and the grounds are gorgeously landscaped with an abundance of birds and wildlife. The condo itself was very clean and nicely decorated and had everything we needed to have a comfortable two week stay that felt like a tropical home away from home! The other residents and property owners that we met during our stay were very nice, welcoming and helpful with the only exception being the owners across the hallway who were cordial but always had a air of suspicion and never seemed to warm up to our presence like all the others. As long as we followed all of the rules and definitely didn’t hang our towels over our balcony like we were warned about 😊 all was well though. We absolutely loved our time at Rosa Blanca and will most definitely return many times in the future!!

In our search for the perfect winter getaway we were introduced to Playa Del Carmen and specifically Playacar by friends of ours.
Although we love the activities of biking, hiking and skiing in the mountains, we love walking and snorkeling in the lovely blue green waters of the Caribbean.

We searched for several years with various real estate agents finding that perfect location in Playa Del Carmen. However, after renting from Rose Blanca owners in the previous years we knew that Rosa Blanca ticked all the boxes on our wish list. Security, closeness to 5th avenue and walking distance to shopping and to the beautiful Mayan beach.
We couldn't believe it when in 2014 the opportunity became true that we could actually own a condo and a Penthouse nevertheless.

What can we say. Location, Location, Location!! Rosa Blanca is absolutely in the best location for walking to all amenities. 5th Avenue is close enough to walk to and enjoy the foods and beverages yet far enough away to enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness Rosa Blanca condo's has to offer.
In our search for the perfect condo we found - No other pool compared in size and accessibility as the one here in Rosa Blanca.
