Ski-in/Ski-out, Penthouse Unit w/ Awesome Views, Walk to Village!

This unit is located in Mountain Lodge, and is one of only 6 St. Moritz units in the building, which means that it is 1000+ sq. ft. (approx. 240 sq. ft. larger than a standard 2-bedroom) and has a wood-burning fireplace. This one is a top floor, corner unit with panoramic views of the ski lift, ski slope, and the beautiful mountain lake. Pictures don't do it justice. You can watch your family get off the lift and wave down to them as they ski by! This unit has recently undergone some updating and is easily one of the nicest in the building. It is near enough to the elevator to be convenient, but not close enough for noise to be a problem. If you want a great place to make some lifelong family memories, this is it!

Mountain Lodge is one of the older buildings in Village Central, and as it was here first, it arguably occupies the best spot on the mountain. You would be hard-pressed to find another building in the village with better views, or that is more ski-in, ski-out than this one. It is adjacent to the Ballhooter lift, has easy access to a beginner slope, or you can ski down on a green or blue run. For the utmost in convenience, there are ski/bike lockers you can rent just inside the exit to the slopes. Mountain Lodge has it's own private parking lot (rare on the mountaintop), which is free to Mountain Lodge guests. It is walking distance to the Village shops (including ski rentals), several restaurants (yes there IS a Starbucks!), and Split Rock Pools with heated pool, hot tub, and sauna (additional charges apply). During prime ski season, there is even a restaurant in the basement of the building, so on those really cold nights, you can go out to eat without even going outside!

Mountain Lodge features a comfortable lobby with a large fireplace and overlook seating areas with breathtaking views of the mountain. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided in the building, as well as in the unit. There is a coin-operated laundromat on each floor. There is a coin-operated arcade for older kids, an indoor children's play area with playground equipment, limited exercise equipment, and an indoor lounge with movies available. *These recreational areas are in a different part of the building, so while noise from these areas is a problem for some units, it is not a problem for this one. Mountain Lodge is also one of the few buildings at the resort with a 24-hour desk clerk and on-site maintenance in the unlikely event anything should go wrong. Please note that while temps on the mountain are usually cool year round, Mountain Lodge is not equipped with A/C, so if you are considering a stay in the middle of summer, you may want to take this into consideration.

Annual ski trip
My friends and I go on a ski trip every year and this was the perfect location! We loved the ski in ski out location and it was plenty of space for 6 people. We definitely would stay again!

We’ve been to this property several times, the views are beautiful with great access to the slopes. It’s the perfect size for our family. Brenda is great to work with and has great communication Would love to see the kitchen cookware upgraded with more casserole type dishes for cooking. It’s was a great time with family and games were available for the rain days. Thanks again.

Most exceptional location in several ways...
On a first family trip to Snow Shoe we did not know much about the village or properties available. This unit is in Mountain Lodge (which admittedly we now know is a pretty rowdy place in terms of all the mountain options - lots of drinking and younger groups) but of all the possible units in the entire building this unit is easily the most desirable location. Its off the main lobby rather than less desirable wings of the hotel, its far from elevator traffic, it has no unit to its immediate right. It has tables and firewood in the concourse directly next to the front door. The view however from the balcony -which is not shared with another unit using a divider - is probably the best you can get in the entire resort. The only reason the cleanliness score is docked a point isn't for the unit itself but the building that is Mountain Lodge, which is showing age and a little big of lack of attention compared to neighboring properties owned by Snow Shoe. The unit itself was as clean as one could ask for. As for everything your hosts CAN control its a 10/10 with great communications. You can easily walk out of side door of the lodge and right onto the slopes and grab a coffee or breakfast item or short walk to the village corridor with shops and bars. The ski school and rentals are the opposite side of the village if that is of significance. This is a property best suited for a family with all their equipment owned who want to walk right out and strap in and go.

Great location & view
Glows - Can't beat the ski out location and convenient gear lockers. Amazing penthouse view of the slopes and mountains. Loved the cozy wood-burning fireplace and spacious enough for our family of 4. Parking onsite was a huge plus for this busy resort area. Lodge staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the game areas and breakfast and dinner onsite. Grows - could use a new pots and pans set, primary bath drain clogs and fills with water during shower, need to restock fireplace kindling supplies, balcony snow shoveled for better access of views.

We are an active family of 4 who have enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, and hiking here for many years. Our 2 children learned to ski here when they were about 3 years old. They are now adults, our daughter recently got married, and we are hoping that we will have grandchildren in a few years who will also enjoy coming here! ;)

We chose to buy in Mountain Lodge due to it's location on the mountain and proximity to the village. We originally bought a 1-bedroom unit on the mountain side, and later sold it when a St. Moritz became available. There are only 6 of these units in the building, and there was a waiting list for them, so we felt very fortunate to be able to get this one.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

What we love about this unit in particular is it's location. It is on the top floor corner overlooking the lift, the slopes, and the mountain lake. It is close enough to the elevator to be convenient, but far enough way that noise isn't an issue. It is in a different part of the building than the playground and arcade areas, so no problem with the noise there. Also, since it is on the top floor, there is a lot less noise from people walking by in their ski boots.
