Michael was born in London, Ontario and Lyne was born in Quebec. Lyne's family moved to Ontario when she was a child and then she moved to Calgary, AB and resided there until 2012. Michael's family moved to Calgary when he was a young adult. Lyne and Michael met in Calgary. Michael and Lyne bought this fantastic property in 2007 but didn't build until 2013. They finished the guest house in 2014 and it was always the plan to open rental accommodations. Michael and Lyne retired in Panama in late 2012. They have learned a lot about what it takes to retire in Central America and are happy to share this with their guests.
They are also happy to assist you with your excursions in the area if you wish.
Lyne keeps busy as a personal trainer, enjoying yoga, and entertaining dinner guests. She was in the software business in Calgary, AB, for her last corporate employment. Michael was in the printing business and business consulting for many years in Calgary. Now that Michael has finished the construction of their 2 houses, whereby, he was the designer, engineer, and builder, which he really enjoyed, he is doing the retiree role. He also enjoys fishing, scuba-diving, snorkeling, writing, and swimming.
Lyne and Michael are proud Canadians who needed to get away from the cold.
They have made many friends from around the world in their expanding expat community.
They are enjoying their new relaxed lifestyle but it's always wise to keep busy, thus why they have the rental accommodations. They also want to share the pure beauty of their nature's oasis which is a 'birder's' dream, as well as any wildlife enthusiasts'.

We searched for a retirement location in many countries around the world and finally chose Panama.
Panama is the latest retirement heaven and is getting a lot of publicity as of late (10 years).
We appreciate that they use the U.S. dollar as their currency, have a democratic government without an army and have a GDP that is strongly supported by the world-famous 'Panama canal'.
The country is in growth mode. It has a good medical system.
Panama welcomes foreigners with visas that include incentives to ensure their transition into a first world country.

We cherish the community that we reside in as it is unspoiled and still basically a mini jungle with a lot of wildlife. We intend to maintain the eco-system on our property for our guests to enjoy.
We are located 22 meters from the beach and have the title to this property. Owning property this close to the sandy beach is unique to Panama. All other countries that we have traveled to, the government does not allow land to be purchased with full title unless it's at least 200 meters back from the high tide line.
We enjoy the seclusion that this property and beach allow us.
We also have a gentle slope to access the beach, therefore, no cliffs to climb or descend.
