River Bear Retreat is a 3 bedroom/3 bath house on the river. The main floor has the kitchen, dining room, living area with a fireplace, and a nook with a desk and a futon. The upper bedroom has a queen bed and a large bathroom with a shower and access to one of the decks. The lower level has a living area and 2 bedrooms/2 baths, a king bedroom (with deck access) and a queen bedroom. Lower level bathrooms have a large tub and separate showers. All bedrooms have fireplaces. Flat screen TVs in both living areas and two of the bedrooms. A queen sleeper is in the lower living area. The house has three large decks - one off the upper bedroom, a covered deck off the lower king bedroom, and a lower deck closer to the river. There's a small deck off of the lower living area. The front of the house has a grill with eating area. All decks and bedrooms are accessible from the outside. Path to the river on the property. Hi-speed internet & AT&T cell booster.

Please do not sleep with fireplace on. • Storm Policy/Road Conditions: No refunds will be given for storms. Mountain roads can be curvy and steep. The City of Ruidoso is responsible for maintaining roads; however, we recommend four wheel drive and/or chains during the snow months. We do not refund due to road conditions. • The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The owners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to see the premise.

Amazing Views

We had such a great time at this place we did not want to leave. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The cabin was spacious and relaxing. All 3 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and a fireplace. Communication with the property manager was great.

Excellent Cabin By River

Very nice 3 bedroom cabin by river. Our family had a great time there. We would definitely stay again! Good communication with local representative and owner!

Perfect

We brought my parents here on vacation. My dad has been coming to Rudiso for 45 years in his RV but stopped when covid hit because of health reasons. I rented this house and it was absolutely perfect! Loved that all rooms had own outside access to their own deck. The view was beautiful and the steam was so soothing! Great place for family.

End of summer Vacation

The cabin was beautiful, in a wonderful location right by the river. We enjoyed sitting on the decks listening to the river and seeing deer almost every day we were there. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyable stay

What started out as a little concerning ended up being a great stay. We arrived a little early and cleaning staff were there cleaning and we talked to them through the open front door. We told them we would come back. When we came back and hour later the room temp was showing 85 and the thermostat was on 65. Not sure why they had the front door open while cleaning but I beleive it caused the AC to freeze up. The bottom floor was nice and cool and we had no problems staying cool that evening. There was an AC man that came the next day and he agreed that the AC was probably froze up due to the door being left open and causing it to run nonstop. We were fine after the initial 12 hours and the cabin cooled down and we were able to enjoy both floors. It has beautiful scenery and we enjoyed having a stream right there at the cabin. The rooms were clean and comfy. We would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to others even after the first night AC problem.
